Longevity
"I bought my Dualit 4 slice classic toaster a mere 23 years ago, I’m thoroughly disappointed that in this time it has never broken or required zero new parts. On average it has been used twice a day over our period of ownership, therefore it has been used a mere 16790 times without a problem. This family heirloom has now had to leave our residence as our Daughter has demanded that she keeps it as we are moving to France. I suppose we’ll have to buy a new toaster in France now with a European plug? I can’t think for one minute which brand of toaster we will choose š"
Great purchase, does what it
"Great purchase, does what it says on the tin, also looks good."
Excellent
"I bought this because it is repairable which is very rare these days. Having said that it claims to have a life span of ten to 30 years so, hopefully it will last at least ten years which is also very rare these days. At £200 it is not cheap but if I get ten years out of it, it works out value for money, if I get more than ten years out of it, it's a bargin, either way I am happy and then it's repairable. I am sick of buying toasters and paying £50 or £60 that stop working afer two or 3 years andvit is alway just as the gaureentee runs out. I think they call it built in obsolence. I like the fact that it is made in the UK and not in China, it makes lovely toast and it looks really good too, plus it makes toasties, what's not to like?"
Lovely looking toaster, timer a little intrusive though!
"I know this is a “Retro” piece of kitchen equipment but I didn’t realise that the timer mechanism would be quite so noisy. It’s the first toaster I’ve ever owned that makes such a clockwork/ wind-up sound and not something that I remember reading about in the marketing information? Having said that, it works just fine and I guess we’ll get used to the sound, along with the “whisper-quiet” kettle and the coffee machine all adding to the breakfast cacophony!"
Disappointing
"Love the design but I have purchased two of these now and on both of them the timer switch kept stopping, which meant they were unusable. My daughter has had the same experience. Not good,"
Perfection
"This is by far the best toaster I’ve owned, the build quality is superb and I like the fact that tho it’s expensive you can replace parts when they ware out. There customer service is second to none I had a issue with the courier dropping it over my garden fence, contacted customer service as a result I sent it back they checked it over for damage and received it back all within 1 week, brilliant"
NewGen Classic Toaster
"Lovely replacement, makes lovely toast"
Replacing an old friend.
"We bought our first 4 slice Dualit toaster in 1989. We'd replaced the elements once, but the timer was starting to stick and, after 36 years of wonderful service, we thought it was about time we replaced it. Very happy with our new one especially as we can now set it to toast 1, 2, 3 or 4 slices rather than our old one which we could only set at 2 or 4 slices. We also have a Dualit kettle, coffee machine and scales. So, very happy with the brand."
Replacement for 33 year old Dualit
"I chose to upgrade to a new version of the Classic toaster after one of the elements burnt out although they were replaceable I was struggling to get slightly irregularly cut pieces of toast into that machine. This is massively easier with the new toaster which looks very similar but has the ability to choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 slices rather than just 2 or 4. Heated up nice and quickly but there was the expected initial burning smell as the oils evaporated on first use with it empty. The toast quality is slightly inferior in that the parts of the toast of a nearer the burners are much more toasted than those further away like most modern toasters. The old toaster was more even but home made bread occasionally got stuck. Swings and roundabouts but this good British firm has been very good to deal with and always offers a repair service with hopefully a life similar to my old toaster."
Brilliant toaster
"So far this toaster has done everything we have asked. It toasts perfectly. It's very simple to use, I like that the toaster as a separate timer dial and a simple lever to lower the toast in. Great quality that I hope will last a few years but am looking forward to when we can order replacement parts. . . very sustainable x"
