Dualit Product Recipe

Cheesy broad bean and avocado pate.

Broad beans mixed to a smooth pate.
Serves: 4 Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 1 second

Broad bean pate on a seeded toasted bloomer.


  • 1 Tin of broad beans drained.
  • Half a fresh ripe avocado.
  • 2-3 Spring onions washed and chopped.
  • 1 Garlic clove finely chopped.
  • 200g cream cheese.
  • 1 Tsp Mint sauce.
  • Juice of half a lime.
  • Salt and pepper to season.
  • 1 Tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 Tsp runny honey.

  1. Chop the spring onions and garlic in the handblender beaker.
  2. Drain the broad beans and add to the chopper a little at a time and blend until smooth.
  3. Add the flesh of the ripe avocado, cut into small pieces, add to the pate and continue to blend in until smooth, then spoon all the mix into a serving bowl.
  4. Add the cream cheese into the chopping beaker and pulse to loosen and smooth then stir in to the pate with the salt and pepper until all evenly combined. This can all be blended in the beaker if preferred.
  5. Stir in the mint sauce and top with a sprinkle of chilli flakes and a drizzle of honey if desired.
  6. Serve on a thick slice of toasted seeded bloomer.

Top tips....

For a chunkier version of this delicious pate, use a potato masher to mash all the soft ingredients together in a large bowl, adding the chopped garlic and spring onions after.

If using fresh beans, boil and imediately refresh (drop into ice cold water) this will retain the vibrancy of the beans and allow to cool before blending.

Try this with Chick peas.

A vegan cheese can be added in place of cream, or thick Soya cream.
