Timer failure after 4. 5 years
"I have the same problem as other recent reviews here: Mi7 timer started sticking and I have not been able to source a replacement. I've oiled the mechanism to no avail. Such a shame, I am really keen to keep what I thought was a high quality British servicable toaster. It seems the other Mi2 timers are better but I don't think they are interchangeable. I hope Dualit can find a solution for us!"

"Like many others here I have a very expensive toaster that after 5 years needs a new timer because it stops working while counting down. How can a company with so many failures not manage to keep this part in stock and available to its customers. ? Bad form Dualit …! Shame on you."

"Dualit, where on earth is your stock?! Like others I've been waiting months for this replacement part! I'm desperately trying to avoid buying a new toaster but constant burnt toast and the fire risk is really making me think it's time. Unacceptable really and this should be such an easy fix if only the part was available. Any updates on timing would be appreciated!"

"The timer clock seems to be a weak link for the toaster. It fails often and the company is clearly struggling to keep replacement parts in stock. I’ve been waiting to order for months and watching the growing number of disgruntled customers in the queue ahead of me. When will you have sufficient stock?"
Great until you need a timer
"The timer works intermittently and never shuts the toaster off when it stops. Yikes! Searched for a replacement timer, but no luck. Bought a Breville and am happy. Don't believe the "toaster for life, you can fix it yourself" marketing hype."

"We have been waiting 6 months for this part to come back into stock. We are now considering buying a new toaster. Others have complained about the lack of availability but there has been no update from dualit. A major selling point of this premium brand is that it is supposed to last a lifetime because it’s easy to repair and spares are easily available. Dualit should be updating their website of when they expect this part to be back in stock."

"We bought a Duralit toaster at a premium cost compared to a standard toaster because of the supposed ability to source replacement parts. Guess what Timer switch isn't available and hasn't been for weeks. We now have a junk toaster at that is supposed to be repairable. Customer at it most inept."

"To add to my previous review: I was provided with sound advice by Dualit and have in fact been able to wire in a Mi2 timer in place of the Mi7. Happy toasting time!"
