Chilli Bean Tacos

Dualit's chilli bean tacos are a savoury delight that encapsulate the essence of bold and satisfying flavours.

Chilli Bean Tacos

Temperature: 180°

Cooking Time: 5 minutes



  • 1 x 8 pack tortilla wraps
  • 1 x tin kidney beans (drained)
  • 1 x pack Mexican chipotle fajita mix
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp olive or chilli oil
  • 200g grated cheese
  • 1 lime
  • Salt and Pepper



  1. Drain the kidney beans and rinse them under cold water and set aside. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic. 
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over a medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened.
  3. Add the drained kidney beans to the skillet. Sprinkle the fajita seasoning mix over the beans and onions. Stir to combine.
  4. Continue to cook the bean mixture over a medium heat for a few minutes, allowing the flavours to meld. Use a spatula to gently crush some of the beans against the skillet’s surface or use a potato masher to slightly mash the beans. Stir regularly to prevent sticking.
  5. Lay out 4 tortillas on a clean surface. Place a generous spoonful of the bean mixture in the centre of each tortilla.
  6. Brush the edge of the tortilla to moisten. Fold the tortillas over the bean mixture to create a semi-circle shape. Press down gently to seal the edges or roll them if preferred.
  7. Lightly coat the Air Fryer Crisper Plate with fry light spray to prevent sticking. Place the prepared tacos in the Air Fryer.
  8. Sprinkle a handful of grated cheese over the top of each taco.
  9. Once cooked, repeat for the 4 remaining tacos.
  10. Serve the cheesy kidney bean tacos with guacamole, lime mayo and lime wedges on the side. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos before taking a bite for a burst of flavour.
