Ice lollies are not only a treat on a summer's day, but are a
very good way to make a dent in your '5 a day'. Making your own and
choosing healthy, fresh ingredients will result in delicious and
nutritious lollies rather than the sugar laden varieties often sold
Lolly moulds and sticks can be found in cook shops and
supermarkets and they are so quick and easy to make. Most recipes
simply require you to blend the ingredients, pour into moulds and
then freeze - what could be easier?
Place all the ingredients into a jug and blend until smooth with
the Hand Blender wand. Pour into the moulds and freeze. Coconut
water is a good alternative to use in lollies over water or
lemonade. Packed with electrolytes, it is great to rehydrate your
body on a hot day.
Blend all the ingredients together, pour into the moulds and
freeze. This is a good basic recipe, where you could try swapping
the cherries for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries or other
Into each mould place slices of orange, cucumber, strawberry and
2-3 mint leaves. Mix the flat lemonade with the Pimms and pour into
the moulds, over the fruit pieces. TIP: swap lemonade for flat
ginger beer for a bit of a different taste.
