Ice lollies are not only a treat on a summer's day, but are a very good way to make a dent in your '5 a day'. Making your own and choosing healthy, fresh ingredients will result in delicious and nutritious lollies rather than the sugar laden varieties often sold in shops.
Lolly moulds and sticks can be found in cook shops and supermarkets and they are so quick and easy to make. Most recipes simply require you to blend the ingredients, pour into moulds and then freeze - what could be easier?
Place all the ingredients into a jug and blend until smooth with the Hand Blender wand. Pour into the moulds and freeze. Coconut water is a good alternative to use in lollies over water or lemonade. Packed with electrolytes, it is great to rehydrate your body on a hot day.
Blend all the ingredients together, pour into the moulds and freeze. This is a good basic recipe, where you could try swapping the cherries for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries or other soft fruits.
Into each mould place slices of orange, cucumber, strawberry and 2-3 mint leaves. Mix the flat lemonade with the Pimms and pour into the moulds, over the fruit pieces. TIP: swap lemonade for flat ginger beer for a bit of a different taste.
