Toasties don't have to be all about sliced bread! This recipe
from one of Dualit's expert in-store demonstrators, Paulene, uses
pitta bread filled with a delicious chickpea salsa, made with the
Hand Blender, then
toasted using the sandwich cage.
Shopping List
- 1 small tin of chickpeas in water, drained
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 spring onion
- 1 small romano pepper
- 1 tblsp olive oil
- Bunch of fresh coriander
- Juice of ¼ of a lemon
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 pack pitta bread pockets
Method
- Chop the pepper and avocado into rough quarters and place in
the Hand Blender's chopping bowl, with the garlic, spring onion,
chickpeas and coriander. Blend until all the ingredients are
chopped and mixed together, it doesn't have to be completely
smooth.
- Add the lemon juice then the olive oil gradually through the
feeding tube.
- Spoon the creamy mixture into the pitta bread pockets, place in
a sandwich cage and toast until golden brown.
