Date, Chocolate and Orange Energy Balls

These energy balls can be made just how you like them with your choice of ingredients! They make a great snack for when you need a little pick me up.

Date, Chocolate and Orange Energy Balls

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 6-8

We used the Dualit Hand Blender to make these delicious energy balls.

Ingredients
  • 100g Deglet Noor dates or any other dates
  • 40g oats, cashew nuts or sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 an orange
  • 25g chocolate chips
  • Cocoa powder or desiccated coconut (optional to coat)

Method
  1. Blend the oats, nuts or seeds in the Hand Blender chopper bowl for 30 seconds.
  2. Remove the pits from the dates and cut in half.
  3. Grate half the zest of the orange.
  4. Add dates, zest and chocolate chips to the oats and nuts/seeds.
  5. Squeeze approximately 1- 2 teaspoons of juice from the orange and blend for one minute.
  6. Remove mixture from the Hand Blender and roll into balls.
  7. Coat the balls in cocoa powder or desiccated coconut (if desired).
