When popping out to your local chippy isn’t an option, try your hand at making your own (healthier!) version at home.
Serves: Makes: 1/2kg of chipsCooking Time: 45 minutes
You can also make these chips as skinny or as chunky as you
like! If you prefer rustic chips, leave some of the skins on.
Ingredients
1/2 kg potatoes (Maris Piper or King Edward are best) but any potato will do
Olive oil
Sea salt & black pepper
Method
Heat oven to 220C
Peel and cut potatoes into wedges or thick cut chips
Boil potatoes for 2 minutes
Drain and leave until cool to touch
Place on a baking tray and drizzle oil over chips, making sure
all chips are coated in oil
Bake for 30 minutes then turn and bake for a further 15
minutes
Season with sea salt and black pepper
Top tip
Add rosemary for extra seasoning and flavour
