Underwhelmed
"I think the design and looks are great but as a toaster I'm underwhelmed bearing in mind how Dualit market their toasters as one of the best or that's how I read it. The toasting quite often comes out in lines and is partial over the toast and different on each side so not overly impressed and it doesn't live up to it's reputation but then it's only a toaster so I can get too worked up over it."
Robins Toaster
"This toaster replaced a Classic 4 slot toaster. On the Classic the knob was a mechanical timer. The browning control on the Architech toaster does not seem to be mechanical. Is the control an electronic timer? We seem to struggle with the browning control knob"
Poor Quality
"I bought an Architect Toaster. I’ve used it no more than 20 times in 9 months and already it’s stopped toasting on one side on one slot and the website says it’s not repairable and it’s out of warranty"
Pricey and flawed
"Purchased to replace a 15+ years old Russell Hobbs four slice toaster which had given very good service until one pair of slots recently ceased working. This Dualit Architect four slice toaster is smart looking and has a useful peep function which allows you to lift up the toast to check on how it is browning without actually cancelling and ejecting the toast. However we were taken in by the hype which sadly it does not live up to, and given the high price we are very disappointed with it. We can concur with the another review from in that the second slot from the left (left-middle) is particularly temperamental. It often burns one side of the toast and barely browns the other, then the next time it is used the same slot burns the other side of the toast and barely browns the side which was burnt previously? It is hard to explain why it should do this and particularly in this same slot. The performance in the other three slots is more consistent especially with white thick sliced 'Toastie' bread, but not so good with Wholemeal bread. In common with many other toasters the slots could do with being about 2 cm deeper or longer as the top of the bread does not get toasted and will not fit the slot if placed in sideways. Like other reviewers we have found that the best setting is around 3 - 3. 5, but if you like your toast 'nuked' the scale goes right up to 8. In conclusion we would plump for a cheaper toaster/brand and live with its foibles, if any!"
"With one slice of bread too much toasting on one side from the empty space. Told this was normal. Have since returned for a refund"
"The specification is second to none for a large family or small accommodation provider. However, has issues browning the sides to natch until it gets going. So first slice can be black and the other blonde. A big plus is you can get spares."
Great toaster
"Great strong toaster hope it lives up to its reputation as very dissatisfied with other brand toasters. Makes fantastic even toast."
"Had one of these toasters a few years back and really pleased with it. Easy to use, does the job it is intended for."
Toaster Plus
"Excellent toaster with additional features that allow it to be used for more than breakfast."
