The Dualit 2 Slice NewGen Classic Toaster is well suited to smaller households and anyone who usually toasts one or two slices at a time. Each toaster is assembled by hand at Dualit’s factory in West Sussex and carries the assembler’s name on the base plate. Its stainless steel body, cast aluminium ends and wide 28mm slots give it the familiar look and solid construction of the Classic range.
The selector lets you heat either one slot or both, saving energy and helping the toaster work evenly when you only want a single slice. Browning is controlled by a mechanical timer rather than a conventional numbered setting. Dualit’s Peek & Pop® ejector lets you check the bread during the cycle, while separate bagel and defrost settings provide more control over different types of bread.
The patented ProHeat® elements are replaceable, as are other working parts including the timer. A removable crumb tray makes routine cleaning easier, and the adjustable foot helps keep the toaster level. For toasted sandwiches, crumpets and other smaller items, it can also be used with Dualit’s Sandwich Cage, available separately.

Good all round!
"I love my new dualit classic 2 slot toaster. It is well designed, well made, easy to use, very controllable, and I look forward (many years from now) to having it repaired instead of discarding it."
Neat and compact
"A lovely toaster. This is the second Dualit toaster I've had. Last one lasted 30 years. Good value for money! Don't like pop-up toasters, I prefer the control I have with Dualit."
Simply the best
"Shipping was delayed and Amazon was great at communicating with me once I reached out and offered some consideration. This toaster was initially intended for a gift and due to the lateness, I ultimately decided to keep it for myself. I have had two other Dualit toasters in my lifetime which I gifted after a few years and I must say that I have always been happy and impressed with the functionality, design and reliability of these toasters. It is very hands on as one can check on the progress of the toast during the cycle and having this type of control and the possibility of making only one toast and save energy is a huge plus! The fact that it can be repaired and kept for decades is also a game changer, as living in a disposable society is not ideal and we must all continue to do what we can to take better care of our planet."
I bought a Dualit kettle
"I bought a Dualit kettle ages ago. It is so good that when I needed a new toaster I went for a Dualit. It is easy to use and clean. The timer and heat control work properly. I don't need a computer or password to work it. It was a bit pricey but you get what you pay for."
Only takes small slices of bread
"Most sizes of bread do not fit - have reverted to buying smaller loaves! The sandwich press I bought with it drags as you put into the toaster. It does look good but for the money it should take all bread."
Great design and quality
"I bought mine 30 years ago from Magimix in France. Still performing even if I had to change the toasting elements and the timer a couple of times."
A great toaster…. fast and very
"A great toaster…. fast and very efficient. A classic design. Thank you."
NewGen Classic Toaster
"This is my second dualist toaster. I had the first one over 20 years & it’s still going strong at my son’s house & so it wasn’t difficult for us to choose the same again. Best toaster we’ve ever had."
Graded toast every time
"I have the brass version 2 slice Newgen toaster which grades each slice from burnt to barely toasted every slice. £155 and cannot make evenly graded toast. very dissapointing."
Wished I’d shopped around?
"I absolutely adore my toaster, but after I’d bought it, I saw it up to £36 cheaper on other sites. I emailed Dualit but they wouldn’t do a price match 😡"
