Vegetable Couscous

With hearty wholegrains, sweet baby plum tomatoes and healthy greens, this vegetable couscous is a great option for both you and your baby!
Serves: 4 Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes

This delicious meal can be made using plain or flavoured couscous. If possible, you can even make your own vegetable stock to make this recpe free of preservatives, which is better for your little one. Made in the Dualit Baby Food Maker!

Ingredients

  • 25g Dried Couscous
  • 50ml Heated Vegetable Stock or Hot Water
  • 1 Portion Pre-Made Pea & Spinach Purée, Defrosted
  • 25g Ripe Avocado
  • 25ml Water or Baby's Usual Milk
Vegetable Couscous

1. Remove the Steaming Basket from the Blender Jar of the Dualit Baby Food Maker.

2. In a separate bowl, add the couscous and pour in the vegetable stock - enough to just cover the couscous.

3. Place the tomatoes on top of the water and cover for 15-20 minutes.

4. Peel and cut the avocado, add to the Blender Jar along with the Pea and Spinach Purée.

5. Add the cooked bowl of couscous and tomato to the Blender Jar.

6. Blend for 5 seconds, 4 times, or until nice and smooth.

7. Add an extra 25ml of water or milk to the mix if required.

Tips...

  • Add in 1 tbsp of natural yogurt, or a dairy free alternative, for a richer, creamier taste.
