An easy-to-follow detox plan great for anyone new to juicing. After just three days your body will have started to rid itself of toxins to leave you feeling energised.
Before you start!
Read these handy tips first to get the most out of your detox:
1) Always scrub your fruits and vegetables before juicing or blending but there is no need to peel them except where stated.
2) The plan includes drinking lots of water. This should be mineral or filtered water, try to avoid tap water if possible. A glass is about 500ml.
3) Start your day with hot water and lemon. The lemon flushes out the liver and kidneys to kick-start your days detox.
4) Each day includes a minimum of 4 detox teas but you can drink as many as you want. These can be bought in most supermarkets or health shops. You can also drink your own herbal teas if you prefer but chose organic decaffeinated teas and don't add milk.
5) Enjoy each juice as if it is a meal - try not to gulp it down. Use a straw for the juices and sip slowly and "eat" your smoothies with a spoon.
6) Juices often suppress hunger because the body is being satisfied on a cellular level, so if you can't manage all your juice at once don't worry, cover with cling film, put in the fridge and have the rest later. If you haven't drank it before your next juice is due then give it to someone else or throw it away!
7) Take time to relax, read a book, have a bath, go to bed early, avoid TV if possible, maybe have a massage, take a walk and breath in fresh air. All of these things help the detox process.
7.00am Wake up to hot water and lemon
8.00am Super
Green Smoothie
2 apples, 2 celery sticks, 1/3 cucumber, ½ avocado, 1 ripe banana,
handful of greens such as kale, cabbage or spinach, ice cubes
Juice the apples, celery, cucumber and greens then pour this juice
into your blender, add the peeled avocado, banana, ice and blend
until smooth.
Contains THE powerful detox ingredients (apples, celery, cucumber
and chlorophyll rich greens) blended with avocado and banana to add
extra fibre and essential fatty acids (the friendly fats) to
satisfy hunger.
9.00am Detox tea
10.00am Glass of mineral water
11.00am Green and
Clean
4 celery sticks, 1/2 cucumber, handful of kale, 2 apples, 1/3
unwaxed, unpeeled lemon, chunk of fresh root ginger.
Juice everything, pour over ice and enjoy.
Simply exploding with super nutrients! Celery helps flush carbon
dioxide from the body and reduces acidity. Cucumber is an excellent
diuretic body cooler and system cleanser that helps to reduce
cholesterol. Apples are the king of detox juices as the pectin
forms a gel in the intestines that sweeps the gut and eliminates
toxins.
12.00am Detox tea
1.00pm Glass of mineral water
2.00pm Carrot Kick
Smoothie
2 peeled oranges, 3 large carrots, 1 small banana, 1/3 unpeeled,
unwaxed lemon, chunk of fresh root ginger, ice.
Juice the peeled oranges on the low setting of your Dualit juicer.
Juice the carrots, lemon and ginger on high setting. Add the
orange, carrot, lemon and ginger juice to the blender with the
banana and ice and blend.
Oranges are a well known source of Vitamin C but they are particularly powerful in cleaning intestinal tract of bacteria and toxins. Lemon cleans the liver and kidneys and ginger is a natural powerful decongestant and antibiotic.
3.00pm Detox tea
4.00pm Glass of mineral water
5.00pm Tall and
Tangy (make up to 1 litre with mineral water)
¼ pineapple, 1 apple, 1/2 peeled grapefruit, 1 raw unpeeled
beetroot, ½ peeled lime, 125mls of organic coconut water (vita
coco-juice is available from most supermarkets),1 litre of mineral
water.
Juice everything, add the coconut water then make up to 1 litre with the mineral water.
Lighter than a juice as it's diluted to 1 litre so helps to flush the system of impurities. Beetroot is nature's best blood builder and grapefruit breaks down & shifts inorganic calcium from the joints & stimulates digestion. Coconut water is an excellent source of protein, calcium and iron.
6.00pm Detox tea
8.00pm Bioberry Smoothie
2 apples, ½ punnet of organic blueberries, 1/2 banana, 4 heaped
tablespoons of natural organic yoghurt, 125mls coconut water,
ice.
Juice the apples. Put everything else in the blender, pour in the apple juice and blend.
Blueberries contain some of nature's most powerful antioxidants and anti-ageing phytonutrients. The live organic yoghurt helps maintain a healthy gut.
Day 2
7.00am Wake up to lemon and hot water
8.00am Carrot Kick
Smoothie
See day 1
9.00am Detox tea
11.00am Veggie
Might
¼ Pineapple, 1 carrot, 1 small unpeeled raw beetroot, 1 whole red
pepper, small chunk of red cabbage, 1 broccoli stem, ½ courgette, ¼
unwaxed unpeeled lemon, chunk of fresh root ginger.
Juice the pineapple (no need to peel - just scrub the skin) on the slow setting of the machine. Switch off then add the remaining vegetables to the juicer, pack in tightly then juice on the higher setting. Pour the lot over ice and enjoy.
Pineapples contain the enzyme bromeline that aids digestion and dissolves excess mucus (good for hay fever and asthma sufferers). Peppers are high in vitamins B and C and contain capsaicin; a natural painkiller. Broccoli helps reduce blood pressure.
12.00pm Detox tea
1.00pm Glass of mineral Water
2.00pm Super Green
Smoothie (see day 1)
The kale in this smoothie triggers the liver to produce enzymes
that detoxify cancer causing chemicals, inducing cancer cells to
commit suicide.
3.00pm Detox tea
4.00pm Glass of mineral water
5.00pm Tall and Tangy (see day 1 - don't forget to make up to 1 litre with mineral water)
6.00pm Detox tea
7.00pm Glass of mineral water
8.00pm Tropical Mango Bliss ¼ pineapple, 1 apple, ½ peeled mango (stone removed), 4 tablespoons organic live yoghurt, 125mls of coconut water, ice
Juice the pineapple (no need to peel - just scrub the skin) on the slow setting of the machine. Add the pineapple juice to the blender with the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
Mango reduces inflammation of stomach, stimulates the immune system and disinfects the body.
Day 3
7.00am Wake up to hot water and lemon.
8.00am Bioberry Smoothie (See day 1 for recipe)
Bananas are a good source of natural potassium and phosphorous
essential for a healthy heartbeat. They are excellent bone and nail
builders as they contain fructose, sucrose and glucose, giving an
instant boost of energy but with a sustained and controlled release
of blood sugar.
9.00am Detox tea
10.00am Glass of mineral water
11.00am Green and Clean (See day 1)
12.00pm Detox tea
1.00pm Glass of mineral water.

Juice the pears on the slower setting first then juice the apple and cucumber. Pour the juice into the blender then add the rocket, avocado and ice and blend together.
Pears - like apples - contain a lot of the soluble fibre pectin, so they are good for bowels. They cleanse the subcutaneous tissues and improve kidney function. Rocket is packed full of chlorophyll which is remarkably similar to human blood and carries oxygen to the intestines, helping good bacteria to flourish.
3.00pm Detox tea
4.00pm Glass of mineral water
5.00pm Veggie
Might (see day 2 for recipe)
Red cabbage is rich in sulphur (the smell when it's cooking!) which
helps lower cholesterol.

8.00pm Tropical Mango Bliss (see day 2 for recipe)
