Festive fruit fingers

- 115g light or dark muscovado sugar
- 115g self-raising flour
- 115g butter
- 2 large eggs
- 450g sultanas/raisins, mixed
- ½ tsp mixed spice
- ½ tbsp treacle
- 1 medium apple, grated
- Rind of ½ lemon & 1 small orange
- 25g whole glacé cherries
- 1 tbsp of brandy/whisky (optional)
- Icing sugar, for dusting
