Air Fryer Sage and Onion Stuffing

As the holiday season embraces us in a warm and festive glow, there's no better time to gather around the table and savor the delightful flavors of Christmas with our Air Fryer Onion and Sage Stuffing.

Air Fryer Sage and Onion Stuffing

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 4

Temperature: 180°

Air Fryer Setting: Manual

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

The ingredients include meat as an option, but we have also included a delicious vegetarian alternative.

Method
  1. Chop the onion, garlic and sage in the Hand Blender chopping bowl.
  2. Add the butter to a large saucepan and heat gently, then add the chopped ingredients and stir in.
  3. Add the breadcrumbs and oats to the saucepan and stir well.
  4. Add water to combine and allow to cool.
  5. If using meat, mix the pork sausage meat into the stuffing mix along with the egg and combine.
  6. If keeping it vegetarian, at this step try using chopped nuts, apricots, cranberries, mushrooms, chestnuts and cooked rice or couscous to bulk. Add into the stuffing mix with the egg and combine.
  7. Take a tablespoon of mixture, roll into balls and allow to chill. This stops the mixture from breaking.
  8. Add 1-2 tsp of olive oil (or equivalent) to the bottom of the Air Fryer.
  9. Place the sage and onion stuffing balls into the Air Fryer and cook on the vegetable or manual setting for 15 minutes.
  10. Serve with your dinner and enjoy!

Top tips:

  • Try wrapping the stuffing balls in bacon for extra flavour and texture!
  • These versatile stuffing balls can be made a few months in advance as they freeze well. To cook from frozen, remove from container and place on a baking tray and drizzle with olive oil.
